 Verified Bollywood Fans’ Dream Tour in Switzerland — Erwin is Outstanding My wife and I did a private Bollywood tour with Erwin, and it was easily one of the highlights of our Switzerland trip. We’re big DDLJ fans, and Erwin knows the Bollywood shooting locations here like no one else. We started at the DDLJ train station, and he didn’t just point things out—he walked us through the scenes, the context, and all the little details that make it feel like you’re stepping into the movie. We also asked to add locations from other Bollywood films, and he was completely prepared. His knowledge is deep, but what really sets him apart is his storytelling—you’re never getting a rehearsed script, you’re getting a guide who genuinely loves this. It’s obvious this is his passion, and it shows in every stop. Beyond Bollywood, he’s also extremely well-traveled with an eclectic background, so the tour naturally expands into Swiss culture and history, plus a bunch of great travel stories along the way. If you’re deciding between tours in the area, I’d recommend Erwin without hesitation.  Verified Memorable! I am late in writing my review, but regardless I had to write this review to help others that might be on the fence about booking a tour with Erwin. Erwin was a pleasure to meet. Though this is more costly then the other Bollywood tours, we enjoyed our time on the tour and with being such a huge fan of Bollywood, it was great seeing the shooting locations of classics such as DDLJ from 90s! I feel that we covered more than we would have in the shorter (less expensive) tours offered for Bollywood. I also feel that we saw areas that are more difficult to get to in this tour that we would have missed out on otherwise. This tour was one of the most memorable parts of our visit to Switzerland.  Verified Heart-Warming Genealogy Tour in Switzerland After researching my Swiss roots for more than three decades, Erwin helped me make significant breakthroughs and led us to the places that mattered most. What a wonderful tour guide! Erwin was so generous with his knowledge and time. He connected us with the places where my ancestors lived, worked, and worshipped. His understanding of the region provided insights into why they decided to emigrate to the US around 1847. The tour was the highlight of our two week vacation in Switzerland.

 Verified Appenzell through Erwin’s Eyes Last October, we took a family trip to Switzerland. Besides visiting Zurich and other popular spots, we wanted to discover something more authentic, so we booked a tour with Erwin to the canton of Appenzell. The best decision we could have made! Erwin truly loves and knows the area inside out. He tells fun stories and shows you hidden places you’d never find on your own.  Verified A Dream Come True – Unforgettable Bollywood Tour in Switzerland! Taking the Bollywood private tour in Switzerland was truly a dream come true for me! From start to finish, the experience was magical and everything I had hoped for as a Bollywood fan, especially a Shahrukh Khan fan. The locations were stunning – just like in the movies – and it was surreal to see the iconic spots where some of my favorite scenes were filmed of Dil Waley Dulhaniya Lay Jayeingay. Walking through those picturesque landscapes felt like stepping into a Bollywood film set. What made the tour truly exceptional was our guide. Incredibly well-informed, passionate, and engaging, he shared so many interesting facts, behind-the-scenes stories, and film trivia that brought each location to life. His knowledge of Bollywood movies was impressive, and his enthusiasm made the experience even more special. It felt like I lived those scenes myself on this tour. This tour was not just sightseeing – it was a heartfelt journey through the magic of Bollywood in one of the most beautiful countries in the world.  Verified Amazing genealogy experience we'll never forget. I had an amazing experience finding out so much about my genealogy. Erwin even surprised us with some of our own fellow ancestors we got to meet and talk with. He's very deep in his knowledge in general with Switzerland but also does quite a deep dive into your own family and finds out how they lived and what they did, then goes and shows you the actual places they worked and lived. Of course him speaking great English helped a lot, I think doing this all by ourselves would have been such a meh experience....so I'm grateful I didn't. Highly recommended!

 Verified Family History Tour - Canton Schwyz, Switzerland We had a wonderful “genealogy” tour with Erwin last week. We worked with him over several months, providing what family information we had, and he was able to contact and arrange for us to meet several distant cousins. We toured the beautiful countryside where family members emigrated from in the mid-1800s. We were able to view farmsteads that family members lived in before they left for America. Erwin had arranged a lunch with a 5th cousin who had created a family genealogy, which she shared along with family pictures. It was a wonderful meeting, and we will keep in touch as we continue to research family. Erwin also arranged a meeting with another 5th cousin on a different branch of the family. This cousin had created and published a marvelous genealogy of that family, which he shared with us. The meeting was so friendly, and they treated us to local drinks and a cheese that had been made by their daughter. Erwin was a great translator, so we could converse and learn about family and history. A wonderful tour that created memories we will treasure forever.

 Verified A Walk in the Footsteps of Our Ancestors My husband, Lee, and I had the extreme privilege of spending 8 days with Erwin in September of 2024. We have had the fortune of traveling the world, but this trip will hold a special place in our hearts for the remainder of our lives. Lee's ancestors emigrated from Switzerland in the 1880's and it has been a life-long dream for him to visit his homeland. When Lee emailed Erwin in February, he indicated he would like to "walk in the footsteps of his ancestors." Not only were we able to accomplish that, but we also were able to walk in the house of his great great great grandfather from his fraternal side and the house of his great grandmother from his maternal side. It was a very emotional experience for both of us. Erwin did a tremendous amount of "legwork" ahead of time and organized many activities that were executed flawlessly. We also met a number of distant relatives, all of whom were so welcoming to us. When we started communicating with Erwin, we felt very much at ease with him. He was very responsive to our e-mails and we also had several video calls with him. He had many surprises for us over the 8 days, and he had one final surprise for us on the last day. As it turns out, Erwin is related to us through his father's side of the family! Imagine...we googled a genealogy guide in Switzerland, and we ended up hiring a relative. You can't make this stuff up! And we are pleased to say we will consider him our dear friend forever. We give Erwin a "big thumbs up!" Janet Kernen

 Verified Seeing the places where my mother lived as a girl We hired Erwin to take us to Eastern Switzerland to visit the places where my mother lived as a girl. In preparation for the tour, he drove to these villages to locate the houses where my mother lived, the schools she attended and the churches she attended. He also checked to see if any property owners would be home when we were in the villages. As a result, we did not waste any time locating for these buildings. As a proper Swiss, he arrived at our hotel early on the day of the tour. His car was roomy and comfortable and he is an excellent driver. Erwin spoke impeccable English and was able to clearly communicate with us on complicated aspects of Switzerland’s history. He also took photographs during the tour which allowed us to enjoy the sites. We highly recommend him.
