THREE TRULY HISTORIC 12TH AND 13TH CENTURY CASTLES
One, a Swiss heritage of national significance, surrounded by picturesque long-established vineyards.

Another built on an enormous rock on the shores of Lac Léman (lake Geneva) was originally a Roman outpost, guarding a strategic road between Alpine passes, still has 14th Century wall paintings and has inspired artists from Delacroix to Courbet, and writers such as Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Victor Hugo and famously Lord Byron who wrote a poem about its dungeon and whose signature can still be seen there!

And the third, also a Swiss heritage site, towers above a medieval town famous for cheese-making overlooking a river valley between Alpine foothills!

Here we are in the French speaking part of Switzerland – where ancient traditions have been carefully upheld and buildings meticulously preserved.

This heritage provided the setting for many of the great Bollywood films.
